English Martyrs' is a Fairtrade Parish

Fairtrade products are bought from producers in the developing world at a price that reflects the real cost of production and includes a premium which is invested in social or economic development projects.

In October 2007 English Martyrs' parish was awarded Fairtrade status by the Fairtrade Foundation, thus joining over 3000 churches throughout the UK that have committed themselves to serving only Fairtrade tea and coffee (and other Fairtrade products when possible) at parish events and promoting Fairtrade products, especially during Fairtrade Fortnight.

At English Martyrs' we have Fairtrade stalls after Sunday morning Mass on several occasions over the year. Those held in October and November selling Christmas cards and gifts are especially popular.
